In late 2020, Frank Russo, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, CCH, Vice President of the Homeopathic Nurses Association, embarked on a research initiative to query each state board of nursing’s scope of practice. The intent was to determine whether RNs or APRNs are able to practice integrative or complementary medicine, specifically homeopathy. By end of summer 2022, the results were:

The interactive map below provides this information by state and also lists links to each states’ documentation.

As the nursing profession and homeopathy move forward, the map will need to be updated if there is new legislation or position statements that include homeopathy within the nurse’s scope of practice.
